What is the Parks Charge?

The Parks Charge is collected once a year to help Parks Victoria maintain and improve some of Victoria’s parks, trails and other facilities, including our zoos, the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Shrine of Remembrance.
If you're a property owner, the charge will appear on your July, August or September bill, and it could explain why your account for that period seems higher than normal.
The Parks Charge is not related to the water and sewerage services that we provide to you. We collect it on behalf of the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and it has been charged to customers since the 1950s.
